Memory Traps
In a time where memory is measured in megabytes, where memories are entrusted to very fragile magnetic cards, where information and communication have never been so multiple and consumerist, in this time, where we feel the upheaval of importance of things and values, an analog object is born, surprisingly long-lasting and reliable. An interactive work of art to make live and grow with moments to be trapped forever. Trying to involve the viewer and succeed in making him immerse in the work I believe is the ambition of all artists, but making it interactive is even more exciting. And so the painting object becomes a metaphor for the brain, the empty space that is created between the glass and the background will begin to contain the memories written on rolls of paper inserted through the hole in the upper part of the frame, over time the rolls will fill the space and every time a new memory is introduced this will take away the view of the background that represents the past until it covers it completely, exactly as happens in our brain, the more it fills with memories, the more we forget the past.
